I am happy to report that I feel well enough to start up my training again. The last time I worked out was Sunday, November 8th. I did a nice run but was kind of interrupted by finding an iPhone. I had to stop and try and find the owner from his call list. That took a while but I did return the phone and got in half of my run that day.
People at work were sick all around me and my step-daughter came home from college sick too so my poor wife had her hands full (2 babys in the house).
So after almost three weeks I am going to start up the exercise portion of my fitness plan! In this quick post I’ll go over the exercise plan I outlined before and talk about how portioning has been working. I found this motivating Rocky Balboa video for your perusal.
I have always loved seeing Rocky punching the sides of beef! Too bad I don’t know any meat packers or I could work out a trade by offering my tenderizing services!
Ok kidding aside (fighter humor), I am chomping at the bit as I’ve had a lingering cough. My worry was if I started working out too soon I would just end up running my body down and let the bugs get an upper hand. I should be good to start now.
My plan is to split up my hour runs in half and work in half of the time with bag work (my hands have healed up again) and strength building (read toning) exercise with dumbbells or body weight exercises.
My new twist, other than actually using the weights again, is to pull them into the office where it is warmer so I won’t have an excuse for not doing them!
Portioning is working well for me. I’d like to clarify that I am still eating my regular diet mostly but on occasion when I go off of the regular fare, I am judging how much to eat with portioning. So far I have been doing ok with weight by staying within five pounds from my lowest weight.
I hope you all had a find Thanksgiving celebration and can keep your eating within whatever limits you have for your fitness plan. Now go tenderize some ribs!

I know exactly what you mean about needing to hold off while you are under the weather. I have pushed myself at those points in the past, and have regretted it every time. All that being said, I am glad to see you are past this now and starting the exercise back up. Take it easy for a few days and get back into the swing of things.
