Hungry? On a Diet? Choose Wisely!

I was looking at diet videos an came across this Thailand tuna commercial… Have you ever felt this way? I was laughing when the food started revolting and going directly to the stomach!

Honestly I have felt like this woman plenty of times before on diets… I try to stay on track and grab food that does not have too many calories or fat but just looking at the food give me hunger pangs. I imagine my stomach would try to eat the food it if could. :)

Luckily I am in control most of the time. How do I avoid salivating at the sight of good food? I try to eat enough food to keep my stomach happy and diet! That is easier to do if I do not eat high-fat foods. High-fat foods are higher in calories because fat is nine calories per gram as opposed to four grams per calorie for carbohydrates or proteins.

I found a diet calculator here if you are the analytic type that allows you to input your calories, type of diet, or input your actual fat, carbs, and fats you want to eat. The internet is really cool sometimes, because pretty much anything you want to do is out there if you know how to ask.

When I wrote my diet book titled “Slimmer Zimmer” in 1994, I had to buy a fat and calorie counting book to initially figure out my meals. Now with the internet – there are plenty of resources that will do this for you. If you decided to eat yellow Asian flowers as part of your meals and heard of the medicinal qualities of that food… you could find tons of information on the internet (although as far as I know… I just made up this example). Well I just looked this up and found a reference for Asian edible yellow flowers… who knew - but that should demonstrate the power of the internet.

So while designing your own diet, please use the extensive power of the internet to help find a solution (diet) that you like and can stick with – without your stomach rebelling like the woman in the Thailand commercial :)
