No Guilt Turkey-Cabbage Soup!

I was just about to start poking around the kitchen and to my surprise I found this wonderful Turkey Cabbage soup on the stove! My wife and I are dieting this year but she generally makes soups for dinner rather then some form of dead animal (like I generally go for). :)

The cool thing about her soups are the ingredients are very low in calories and fat! She and my step-daughter do not like potatoes so much and the meat is low-fat ground turkey from Costco. I took a picture of her red cabbage variety she made tonight. She also makes a green turkey-cabbage soup.

Dieting does not have to be hard but it is easier if most of the people in the house are of a like mind. My wife had a hard time when I when I started to cheat. I would volunteer to buy fast food often or bring home candy bars. I know that if my wife makes a home cooked meal… I cannot resist the temptation to have a couple of servings!

Well I am going to do a mini work-out and then hunt around for a burger or such before I settle down for the night. Hang in there everyone!

I love homemade soups for dinner! Tonight my dinner came out of a can. There is a real art to making a tasty soup and I’m glad your wife is a talented artist. I ate after walking 2.5 miles. And you are right … a support system is so important. I am looking to you for that!

    Hang in there Jim,

I’m not going anywhere… I could give advice along the old line of how to make money, you know put an ad in the paper to send me a dollar and a self-address, stamped envelope and I’ll show you how… the guy gets instructions on how to put an ad in the paper about making money :) The parallel is creating your own weight loss blog :)
