Diet is such an intimidating word. Don’t you think? I’ve wrestled with this concept for most of my adult life. This blog is focused on health, diets, and exercise so I thought I would touch on what I am doing today to get healthy (weigh a normal amount, increase my fitness level and not lose muscle)! In my formerly sedate life style (last year
) I enjoyed eating out at least once a week and eating large portions during the week (as well as incessantly snacking). Read on and I’ll tell you what I am doing to take the weight off.

First of all I have decreased my stress level. I am a stress eater so if there are any unresolved issues I’ve taken on… I worry about it and eat to console myself. This year I have taken a vow to not take on others’ stresses! If someone comes to me and say they are in need of my assistance and I cannot easily do it… I tell them no. I don’t feel bad and I am willing to empathise with them but I am not willing to take their stress!
I eat moderately low-fat foods. What you may be thinking? Low-fat is tasteless!!! Well I have been on so many diet and exercise programs in my life including a very low-fat diet that I am able to moderate my fat intake to medium levels and still eat less fat than most high-fat, fast food eaters without trying!
I am moderately exercising. What I mean to say is I am walking since I am 75 pounds overweight. I want to do something I can do and not set myself up for failure! I can walk for an hour a day most days. That will increase my metabolism and make my moderate diet so much more effective.
Each successive post I will reveal more of the solution I have found for myself and give insight into how you can design a solution for yourself. What works for me might not be the best for you so I want to leave you with this parting thought… you will lose the weight (fat) when you finally decide to do so, as I have done. Check back often to see the new posts and join me in achieving your weight-loss goals!
